CAS(E) This Sketch #233

Image
Did I say how much I am LOVING my week off?! No?! Well ... 2 ... TWO - inky projects in one week - and I still have time to play! It's been a blast!
I created this project to play along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!

I am loving my watercolours right now, and pulled out my Pool Party, Lost Lagoon andIsland Indigo inks from SU for that moody blue background!  I saw the awesome card DT member Donna created with the balloon, and I knew I wanted to use her as my muse - but I saw clouds :)
I couldn't resist using more of my Unity Stamps for this project - I got both the image and sentiment in a grab bag - lucky me! I added a Wink of Stella to my Daffodil Delight and Fresh Fig butterfly, up close it just SPARKLES! I added those sequins from Neat & Tangled for just a bit more shine.
Let me know you were here - leave some love - Thanks for stopping by!

An Inky Long Weekend!

Image
Hello everyone!
Today was the end to a Long Weekend here in my neck of the woods - and while normally that would make me sad, I began holidays on Friday! I am so grateful for a whole week of to relax, and unwind!
We kicked off this weekend with my son coming for a visit - and the time is always too short! But he promised me he will be back soon. :)
It gave me time to get up into my studio today - and admittedly, I have not been up there for quite some time. There were days I would walk in and look around and sadly, my mojo was gone.  Poof.  Nothing.
But today I made up for it.! I created some wonderful designs that I was happy with - and when I noticed the Paper Players Challenge this week - I knew I wanted to play along and create something to get my mojo back on course!

And here is my design!

I started to play with a piece of white CS and my Tim Holtz distress inks, creating that sweet little layer that resembled wood. I stamped a CTMH image I just love and combined with a  wonde…

Scrap n Stamp - Christmas in July Blog Hop

Image
Hi everyone!
I am excited to be hopping along with the crew over at Scrap n Stamp to celebrate Christmas in July!  There are some fabulous deals going on - check out all the crafty goodness in the online store!
If you are following along, you arrived here via Karla's blog!! Isn't her project adorable??
We got to play with some super fun products from In the Making - and the stocking die I used for my project is FREE with a $50 purchase from SnS !!
Here is my design:

I knew I wanted to use the sparkly green paper for that sweet stocking - and I layered a fun patterned paper from Stampin Up behind a vellum card base. The vellum card was then stamped with Staz-On and I added the little jingle bells and cord to wrap things up!
Thanks for stopping by - and be sure to continue along the hop - next up is Nancy

The Dying Art of Human Connection and Random Kindness

In the 1st time in maybe what feels like forever - this is NOT a Design post here in my blog world.
I feel the need to say and do something important.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of work/life/chaos as I have been dealing with many levels of reality. Meaning: LIFE IS HAPPENING. It's been hitting me with several "WTF" moments at an alarming pace almost daily and I should be wearing a flack jacket for all the #*@* coming my way. My grandmother (Baba) has recently been hospitalized and has exceeded the level of care they can provide for her at the care home she was residing in. This next step of life (meaning = end of life) is one I have always been afraid of - and - I wish I could go back and be a little girl again.

I just want to make pretty things - even if nobody cares. Even if they are more passionate about the whitening brightening power of their toothpaste. Or if they are in to binge-watching horrible drivel on Netflix for hours of their life. I just wa…
